Message I noticed that my steering wheel is turned to one side when going straight. Didn't used to be like that. Now if you turn the other way, the steering wheel is biased to the opposite side when going straight! I'm talking like 20-30 degrees. The car tracks straight, the tires are worn evenly, and there doesn't appear to be any looseness to the wheel (it feel like there is no side to side play). So as you can imagine it takes more turning of the steering wheel than normal as I am turning through 40-60 degrees that is not going toward turning the wheels. The only thing I can think of is that the mount for the rack and pinion unit is broken. I think this is rubber, could be torn but still bolted resulting in this weird behavior. Would this have anything to do with HICAS? No warning light. Has anyone experienced this? TIA for help.
